Tyler Fentie (he/him) is the Game Accessibility Lead for the Neil Squire program, Makers Making Change. Tyler has had a lifelong passion for designing devices with the user at the forefront. Tyler has lived with type one diabetes since he was 7 and has used medical devices ever since. His frustrations with these medical devices not consulting users during the design process fed his drive to want to create alternative and affordable solutions. He found Makers Making Change while a student at the University of Alberta and transitioned to a full time employee as a Mechanical Engineer on the R&D team creating open source assistive technology. Tyler’s time now focuses on expanding the accessible gaming stream at MMC to create devices, programs, and resources so people with disabilities can play games the way they want to.
