Dr Arthur Theil is a Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction at the School of Computing and Digital Technology – Birmingham City University, where he teaches topics related to user experience, accessibility and assistive technologies. His core research focuses on studying novel interaction techniques to support technology users with diverse sensory characteristics. His current focus is to understand users with multi-layered needs and explore the design of wearable assistive technologies for sensory substitution. In addition to conducting academic work, Arthur is currently also part of the SIGCHI Accessibility Committee for the Association for Computing Machinery, the premier forum for researchers interested in human-computer interaction and accessible computing.
