In 2006 Gareth wrote a BBC Exec Board Paper that formalised the BBC’s Commitment to Accessibility for its digital products and services. From these permissions he established the BBC’s Digital Accessibility Team and has spent years nurturing a digital inclusion culture within BBC, and for a while repeating the exercise in YouView.
Enabling any organisation to understand the benefits of cultural and practical change in an evolving technical environment is not straight forward. There are many approaches and techniques, and over the last 14 years Gareth has probably tried all of them. Often more than once. He still has the scars to prove it.
